Who is Wayland

Wayland Baptist University is the oldest institution of higher education on the High Plains of Texas. Established in 1908 by pioneer physician Dr. James Henry Wayland, Wayland Baptist University now operates campuses in six states and two continents, as well as having a number of online degree programs.

Our home campus is located in Plainview, Texas, where student can find a traditional college campus with dorms, athletics and an active student life.

Our extension campuses, located in Amarillo, Lubbock, Wichita Falls and San Antonio, Texas; Clovis and Albuquerque, N.M.; Altus, Okla.; Phoenix and Sierra Vista, Ariz.; Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska; and Mililani, Hawaii; cater to non-traditional students, offering degree options to working adults and armed forces personnel.
